nice review. Thanks for discussing the FTE/FTL issues when breaking in the KelTec. I find this to be true on mouse guns.
my, how far you have come on your reviews, keep on rockin!!!
@LiveFreeOrDie1985 I would highly reccomend one of the pocket holsters (the blackhawk version is particularly awesome) When the pistol is in it, it looks just like a wallet, it is incredible.
to me, with these little guns, it would make more sense to have a walther stye mag release in the trigger guard just to prevent the accidental mag release in the heat of the moment. I am a big guy with fairly large hands. This would help me. how about anyone else?
Love the gun. light weight and RELIABLE. out of box one jam in first 200 rnds and I think that was my grip problem. none since +-400. recommend a finger extension for the clip and watch for accidental release of the mag. sights suck but this isn't a long range weapon.
Just bought this gun last week and went straight to family firing rang right after my purchase and found it took about 2 1/2 mags before it got threw a few jams and miss feeds. No problems since then as of yet and i now have about 100 rounds threw it.
Would you recomend this pistol. I need one that I can conceal very very well. I work as a surgical tech in a operating room and am scrubbed all day. It needs to stay hidden. I am not sure how well it would go over for employees in a hospital ccw. You know people do it though.
this guy is bad ass, i don't care what anybody says
Informative video, thanks for posting. I bought my Kel-Tec 380 soon after moving to Texas, for it's easy concealment. Took my CHL course soon after but failed the proficiency (shooting) half of the test. Never had shot it before (I know-stupid), & just like your groupings, most were low & to the right. Retook it w/ my neighbors Glock 22 (what a well balanced gun) & passed. The lesson: go to the shooting range & practice & practice some more.
Wow that's accurate !
Scary how close his index finger comes to the end of the barrel.
@MushroomPictures You just gotta know the right people. I'm getting my Kel Tec P32 (in CA) in on Monday or Tuesday. Then my 10 days begin >:-[
I have major loading problems, there is always a failure to extract the spent cartridge.
I've used winchester, remington, cci, Federal. Always jams! What kind of ammunition should I use!
Illegal in Cali!
Good review.
Would love to see you do a review of the Taurus 738 TCP.I love the gun and it has a lot of extras the others don't.
"That Gun Is Acurate Dudes!"
as a first gun would it be good for pesonal defence perposes?
shot one of these last wednesday... damn accurate if you've got the hawk eyes to lock those tiny iron sights on target!
When I got my P3AT my sights where all most invisible so I used a toothpick and white paint they look good now.my slide is the black finish so that may not work for all Kel Tecs but if you do try to brighten them up and you have a steady hand and good eyesight I suggest a good paint or even nail polish and a toothpick .I outlined the rear sight I_I and painted the front sight improved my groups
considerably .
That mag release problem is not a training issue, its a design issue.
@yarnell21222
Well, thats good to know it can handle +P loads, I will feel much safer knowing I have a bit of extra kick behind my shots
@krazy4knives Because subconciously you know that kel tec originated the design, so there design is what you are used to seeing/shooting. I have both and know EXACTLY what you mean. LCP on the night stand next to wife, kel tec, in my waistband as I type...
@bulbinking I own two and yes, they are rated to fire +P rounds for carry, as for +P+, it IS a .380... If you can find a +P+ carry round in .380, DO IT!!! I shoot buffalo bore +P JHP's alot and carry those as well, shoots fine! If you can find some +P+ rounds in .380, do please share where to find them as I would LOVE the extra kick for this little "Pocket Rocket"....
Can it handle +P+ loads?
Purchased my P 3AT new just before this video(and incidentally before the ruger LCP). Carried it daily for 18 months, one jam in 500 rounds. After 18 months in my pocket (leather holster), the mainspring broke inside the grip. It was my fault as I failed to realize it was exposed to the inside of the magazine well and I was able/and should oil it. Phoenix summers are rough and with sweat and humidity in my pockets the spring corroded and broke finally at the range. Fixed it, great gun.
Just picked one of these up today because I needed something small, light and powerful for when I go running. |
