RECORD!!! <333

I want this software so bad.. Reason+Record Best Music Software's ever ! I Love Propellerheads,Much respect !

@probbarn your right man I agree thanks

@Dice562 haha obviously pro tools

@silverspar1 Same here. I started out with a cassette deck, a Korg Delta, a TR-808 and a SCi Pro-One in 1987, so I feel the same. Got to see Record 1.5 and Reason 5 at a masterclass show in Leeds with James Bernard and it blew me away. So many great new features and some they haven't even mentioned yet, like the new "alt-drag clip" feature in Record...

@emkplayboy6 Couldn't have said it better myself!

@TrendIndia1 If you look at what Propellerhead have just added to Record 1.5 (and Reason 5), if you had both programs, you wouldn't really need VST's, as you can make and combine so many things with this software (not to mention the amount of routing and control you have over the sounds too), VST's are not as essential as you think and you could always use ReWire if you can't live without them and bring them in that way.

if only this software could host vst's, it would soon replace all major DAW's and put protools to shame

Wondering if when recording if there is an ability to NOT follow the click tracks. Much like say when one is recording onto tape - no perfect MIDI click or beeps getting in the way. So let's say I want to record a band, or a vocal/guitar solo thing or just anything where the music expands and contracts and not have to worry about visual representations of measures and tempo, etc. Time based linear recording is what I'm getting at. That would rock, seriously.

Bought the Reason Record Duo about a month ago and it is, by far the best software I've ever used for recording my music. Very user friendly. I've used Sonar, and Cubase among other programs. Basically, unlike some that I've used, it does'nt get in the way of the creative process. The SSL 9000K reproduction is just incredible. I've been doing this since 1989 with a Korg DSS-1 and a cassette four track so I don't take any of todays technology for granted.

Obviously pro tools, but I mean this software still looks pretty amazing. I use Reason 24/7 so this should be cool. Not a professional studio product though.

Depends....I say Pro Tools. Mostly because I think the routing and ability to USE vst's is WAAAY more helpful. Even though I like the look of record.

@EVERYONE!!! So which is better for recordin', this or pro tools?

Good question. I bought Record and I can't record anything with my Snowball.

Did you ever find a solution to the Blue Snowball recognition issue in Record? I haven't figured it out and haven't been able to record using that as my microphone. Please help if you can.

I have Reason 4 and kept wishing that Propellarhead would come up with the same deal to be able to record audio.....and they did. I have owned so many different types of recording software and I have to say that this is the best yet and user friendly. If you know anything about recording and live sound this software should be no problem for the average musician to operate and produce great recordings.

Record beta tester/pro producer/musician 20 years with every DAW there is. Record aspires to scratch that itch, and actually manages to reach. Godsend to the musician, great sounding childs play to the engineer (a clinical flexible DAW it is not) but as a musician, who needs all that until you master anyway. Still, almost all of what a creative producer requires is in the box. No VST still? OK, I forgive you.. With ableton/protools, Brian Eno and propheads dream big. "Studio instrument" indeed.

it's two words actually! =P

Seems Propellerhead's virtual hardware interface...drives home the sounds just like hardware marketing model. But, unless you're using a dual desktop monitor setup...it's a pain to scroll around and switch windows on a laptop. Logic now uses a single screen and tabs like Ableton Live...both of them can be used comfortably on the go. But, I tried the demo...and even though this guy was using a Macbook Pro...I bet he would have rather been using a Gamer Setup..to see everything at once.

I was part of the Record private beat (before it went public) and I have to say I was hooked very early on. Record is a great music recording device and one that will only get better over time. I've bought it and use it along with Reason 4 (been a Reason user since 2002) and people really should stop going on about the whole VST/AU thing. If you have Record and Reason and can't make great music without the need for VST's, then quit already but don't blame Propellerhead!

What an incredibly cool & appropriate thing to say to all the purists who want to discount the greatness of the cool software that record is. When one can't use components of reason 4 (such as EQ, r7000 reverb, distortion, etc) to create your own good tone/ sound, then you start pointing fingers at Props for not allowing VST suppot. I guess people just love being nerds wasting their time with complex softwares and crashing CPUs.

This rocks. I don't get why VSTs are even a discussion here.

hi where u got record beta

I got the beta Record and am already hooked... I am a Reason user and I love the interface... I got up and running in no time! The only thing I haven't been able to figure out is how to get Record to recognize my USB Snowball microphone... It's hilarious, they release the beta and get us HOOKED and now we are all anxiously waiting for the release... Love it!

No Because (As Far As I Know) It Isn't Made For Actually Designing Songs, But Recording... But If You Have Reason It ReWires With It Seamlessly.
