Lions only attack for 2 reasons when they feel threatened and when they are hunting. The first one has to do with the alpha male, if a human takes the position of alpha male he becomes the leader of the pack. In this case the lion sees the lady as the pack leader that's why he didn't hurt her... as for the hunting instincts. He's locked up, he can't hunt because he has no territory to hunt, that automaticly puts him into submissive state because lions are smart animals.

won't be cute anymore once the lion gets hungry and it becomes a big tragedy
