just pick up a Kel Tec PF-9 today based on a few of your vids of this gun! can't wait to get it to the range and practice with it also while buying this gun i also signed up for a ccw class! once im comfortable with my pistol and get enough training with it i plan on carrying all the time!
Wife just test fired this gun and fell in love with it. I have watched this vid and then realised how old it is.. Retail on them is about $210 these days.. Would you still recommend this gun at this time? Or are we missing some other gem out there. This will be used for CCW.
@patarfuyfuy are people with house alarms paranoid? when the SHTF its to late to prepare.
Only thing I would say about this gun is to people with big hands. The magazine butt plate extension thing that comes with the pf-9 does provide a little extension, but that lip needs to be filed down to make it useful. I still have to tuck my pinky underneath the magazine. Only other issue I'm going to have is deciding how I want to carry it and with what holster..
Just picked this up as I'm taking my conceal carry class this month and no way I'm going to carry a Beretta 92F around. I'm not experienced with such a small and lightweight gun so I'm having trouble with not keeping a tight enough hold onto it, and as a result, my first 100 rounds through it has been wrought with jams. Practice makes perfect, right? I'm glad with the purchase none the less as I know it won't be a problem for me to carry this every day.
@patarfuyfuy No, just realists. We know that bad things happen and about the only thing you can do is be prepared.
are gun carries just paranoid?
Great gun, I picked up this gun around May of 2011. I probably shot around 700-1000 rounds through the gun. Currently the gun is getting fixed by Kel-Tec. I was shooting and had my assembly pin shear off and noticed a small crack just above the back side of the slide lock groove. Still not sure what caused it but I still like the gun. I still like the gun and will carry it when I get it back, just wondering if anyone else has had this problem.
Kahr helps fund the Unification Church cult. Sorry that does matter to me.
@streetpunk99 not everybody carries the same bullet load so that will effect how much the gun weights overall so for a reviewer its better to give a base ine weight that will not change.
I finally got my Kel Tec PF-9. A long time a coming. Between getting my pistol permit (which took 6 months), having to spend money on Christmas, getting the money (from winning my Fantasy Football league), and having to wait for it to ship (no one had one so I bought it on Gun Broker). I can't seem to put it down. Now I just have to get to the range. Thanks Nutn for the reviews on this and the suggestion!!
@streetpunk
dumb question, why do people care about how much an empty gun weighs....i understand what grain you shoot will make a slight diff...but im not concerned with what it weighs after i have to shoot it, only when its loaded when im carrying it.
uggh, hating the face i bought a g32 45 g.a.p......figured it would be smalle enough.....soooo uncomfortable. wish i had one of these.
@bluzboi1 Good for you! If interested in the PF9, I've had the most luck with pancake holsters as far as comfort goes. Currently rocking a MK tactical holster and loving it.
@robertmpierce1 Great to hear! I turn 20 in April...and I have also been inspired to carry the day I turn 21!
Love all your vids but why would the weight of the gun with a empty mag be more important if you carry with the mag full. A GLOCK 17 may weigh less then a 1911 but when you weigh in the 17+1 rounds vs 7 or 8+1 the weight difference is a little bit less. Keep makin' the great vids.
Great review... You gained a Sub!
"if i had a black circle that would have tightened up a little"- c'mon man, those arent bad groupings, and its called a sharpie hahah
Is there a tabletop in the pipe for the Ruger LC9?
I went with the Ruger LC9 instead and regret nothing. It just suited my POU the best, and shoots reliably. With that said, I love nutnfancy and his channel. His table tops are always illuminating. I think I've watched close to half of his videos. And that's saying something! Time well spent. Especially the Philosophy vids on his playlist - by far the best.
Just purchased my PF-9 a couple days ago! Only put about 50 rounds through it so far, and I absolutely love it!! Thank you for the fantastic table top! Also had my options down to the Kel Tec PF-9 and the Ruger LC9! Your shoot off vid really helped me make my decision on which firearm to purchase as an EDC weapon! Thanks alot and keep the awesome vids coming! Love what you do bro!
it holds as many rounds as a 1911
I found this company, called Twisted Industries that is making a 22 conversion for the PF9, anybody have this kit?
Got me my pf9 a few months ago. I love it and carry it all
the time, I definitely see the difference to my PT .40 cal Tuarus
less weight more comfortable. |
