@erabuenaso We are the United States of America, which is why we are considered "Americans." The term has been used since the late 1700s to describe US citizens. I know that we are portrayed as overly patriotic, ignorant dumbasses, but I think all educated citizens realize the different between the US and North and South America. Also, I don't know anyone who describes themselves by their continent. I think one would say they are French or Swedish before European for example.
I am American and I vote that we adopt this song as our new National Anthem. We may have to steal Hugh permanently, though, so that he can always sing it. Sorry, guys. But hey, you still have Stephen Fry and David Tennant!
