I heard Gene Roddenbury was a Urantia Book reader
I feel sad... Gene was an exceptional visionary, optimist and idealist who took his talents and shared with us his vision through Star Trek. Star Trek used to take sci-fi by the horns, and create a world we all would aspire to live in. Star Trek fans know exactly what I am talking about. I am sad because there are no science fiction shows on today, or in the last decade even, that come even close to the truely inspiring shows of Star Trek. Give me back my Star Trek!
trust me sooner ore later we make things that gene was making already in his series
wil be great if we have space ships that are flying with the speed of light and transportation
and so much more saw a pic of picard with a tablet in 1986 if am right and what do we have now a tablet ^^ we humans can do so much more but we need time but am sure we get what he was making already
20 years ago we lost one of the best minds in the universe. Someone who envisioned a better future and overcoming hardships by uniting different people and beliefs, prevailing over wars and exploring the limits of humanity. I will and many other people will miss you. RIP, Line long and Prosper \\\\////_
Stand up in what you believe in until logic or experience proves you wrong. Wise words Mr Rodenberry, RIP
@nightmareofsolomon
Really he was more like an agnostic atheist humanist.
Thanks for everything, Mr. Roddenberry.
I live on uranus
@nightmareofsolomon ~ vice versa ~ actually ~
U attackd my comment : /
chck out Bread and Circuses ~
that episode doesn't seem anti-religious ~ by any stretch ~
& 2oo ~ w/ this segment ~ Gene mentions an interest in God ~
& spock being the pointy ear-ed devil (Rebellious/adventureous Gene)
@TJae1 Yeah, well, so do I. Like not being a dick to people that disagree with me. I still don't believe in God. One doesn't have to be religious to be a good person. Yes, he was raised a Southern Baptist, then later rejected religion for the irrationality and suffering it causes. He created Star Trek with a very atheistic and humanistic philosophy in mind. In fact, in Star Trek, the peaceful races had all evolved beyond superstition.
@nightmareofsolomon ~ Gene also entertained Christian ideas ~
was a Christian 2 at 1 pnt
@TJae1 Gene was a humanist and agnostic.
@TJae1 Now just how exactly did I exhibit hypocrisy? You're the one that doesn't even know the book that you claim to value so much.
U ppl that have a beef w/ the bible ? ~ don't know Gene 2oo well ~
Human evolution is possible ~ I feel ya ~ however ~ Romans 3:10 ++
@nightmareofsolomon ~ hey look hypocrite ~ leave my comments alone
@TJae1 Romans 3:10: "As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one:" Now, just what in the hell does that have to do with evolution?
@Forlo12345 Both with a great love for humanity :) Listening to them gives me hope!
Two great men in history: Carl Sagan and Gene Roddenberry. One is a man of science, the other of science fiction.
Amazing,the message and the man
Highest praise to Gene Roddenberry!
@Pilaf1984 ~ get Ur history rite ~ lol ~
@Pilaf1984 ~ Ur like an old goat from the bronze age ~ & ~ Romans ?
U gotta b kiddin'
@TJae1 Some passage from a mistranslated old book written by bronze age goat herders is barely evidence against evolution.
Not one...
THAT's why Star Trek is so different from all the rest. |
